Description

The Optional Header (SS) is targeted at owners looking for increased performance and weight reduction from motorcycles already equipped with an Akrapovič Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust. The Optional Header (SS) is constructed from high-grade stainless steel and provides a 53.5% (1.8 kg) weight saving in comparison to the standard stock header. Developed with larger diameter tubes to allow improved gas flow with less restriction, the catalytic converter of the stock header is removed to add to the flow. 

When fitted with the Slip-On Line (Titanium), power is increased by 1.6 kW (2.2 hp) at 9,500 rpm, with a torque increase of 3.5 Nm at 6,700 rpm when compared to a Honda XL750 Transalp equipped with the standard stock exhaust system and tested on the Akrapovič in-house dyno. Producing a deep, racing sound fully encompassing the twin-cylinder engine, the Optional Header (SS) is an easy plug-and-play installation, with remapping recommended, but not mandatory. It is a racetrack-oriented part and as such is intended for use on closed-course competition circuits only.

Fitting of the optional header will invalidate the EC/ECE certificate for the Slip-On Line (Titanium).

When installing the Racing Line exhaust system on Euro5+ motorbikes (2 lambda sensors), the engine check light will appear after identifying a deviation in the stock catalytic converter´s parameters.
